"Careless" indeed!!
Several records in this "Birth of the blues" album (Victor P-82) have spotting on them. Can anyone please diagnose what this is? It's in the grooves and everywhere. What is the solution to removing it?

It could be mold, especially if it is seen or felt on the labels as well. Were these sides Directly facing the front and back covers of the album? The cardboard retains moisture more than the sleeve paper.

In the absence of a designed for record cleaning solution, mild soap and water with painter's pad may remove it. Rinse and dry well. Don't soak. It won't hurt shellac.
